Collin Family
Thomas Collin (born Collingham 1802) lived at Loveden House for many years with his wife Frances, nee Broughton (1803-1878).  They were there at the time of the first census in 1841 and Thomas farmed there until the 1880s, though an 1882 trade directory has Thomas and his youngest son John as joint tenants.
Thomas’s eldest son, Foster moved to Balderton and died at Gonerby Moor in 1891.
2nd son William married Mary Pratt and they lived at Gelston.  They had at least 6 children including Thomas William (b1909) and Evelyn Marian (b 1906) (both pictured).  William died at Dry Doddington in 1892.
The 3rd son Henry died at Gonerby Moor in 1879.
The eldest daughter, Frances married John Squires, son of William Squires (born 1775 Hough) and Mary  in 1867 and they settled at Gelston Grange.
When John Squires died in 1907 his son Henry took over Gelston Grange and continued there until at least the 1930s.
John stayed at Loveden and took over the farm when Thomas died in 1885.
John Collins married Louisa  and continued at Loveden House until the 1900s, when he seems to have moved to Gelston, where he died in 1934.
