Hough on the Hill Parish Council
Brandon, Gelston and Hough are part of the civil parish of Hough on the Hill. Although the powers of the parish council are limited, it advises the district council on planning matters and the county council on road maintenance. It can also raise tax through a small precept on our council tax. The Parish Clerk (appointed by the council) cannot vote but receives a small fee for handling all the administration.

Local issues can be raised with any councillor (irrespective of village), either directly or via the parish clerk. Routine enquiries should be addressed to the clerk. Enquires about this website should be addressed here.
The public can attend Parish Council meetings, which are held 4 times a year, normally in Carlton Scroop Village Hall. Details are published on the village notice boards and on this website. The Annual Village Meeting which precedes the March council meeting includes reports on the council’s activities and finances, as well as providing a forum for parishioners to raise issues or ask questions. Any matters requiring attention should be notified to one of the councillors at least 2 weeks before each meeting.
