Many local villagers are troubled by noise from the clay pigeon shooting at Gorse Lodge.
A Stubton Gorse Clay Shoot Residents' Association has recently been formed to help co-ordinate local comments and to liaise with the site. The Association represents the residents of Fenton (which has a parish meeting, but not a parish council) and also includes representatives from Fulbeck Low Fields and Brandon. It will work alongside Stubton, Hough on the Hill, Caythorpe and Fulbeck parish councils.
Not all gunfire in the area is from clay pigeon shooting. Local farmers may organise game shoots within the respective open seasons:
Partridge Shooting Season:1 Sep - 1 Feb
The military used to use Fulbeck Airfield for training with blank ammunition but this stopped in early 2010 and the land has since been sold.
