There is no law to stop you clearing snow and ice from the pavement outside your property, or paths to your property, or from public spaces.
Be a good neighbour - help those who may be unable to clear their own paths.
Don’t use hot water, this may re-freeze as black ice.
Clear the top layer of snow as soon as possible, this will stop it being compacted and may allow the sun to melt the ice.
Salt (or sand/ash) will help stop ice forming.
