The battalion were briefly sent to Egypt in Jan 1916 before returning to France.  L/Cpl Edis died of wounds on 20th April 1917 after the Germans bombarded a town the British had just captured.  He was buried in Maroc British Cemetery, Grenay, just outside Lens.  His name is on the Honington Roll of Honour.

The father James Edward (aka Edward James) died in 1922.  Fanny moved to Carlton Scroop, where she died in 1942.
