Loveden area of Lincolnshire – Local History & Information

About

We set up the Loveden.org.uk website in 2010, to record our local history research and to collate information and news for the Loveden area – which sits between Grantham, Newark, Sleaford and Lincoln, without being close to any of them.

Our research started in Brandon, in the parish of Hough on the Hill.  But gradually expanded to the surrounding villages, which once comprised the Loveden Wapentake.  We did a lot of work on the local war memorials, not just researching the men and how they died, but looking at their families and how they were linked with other families and the places they lived.

We moved away from Lincolnshire at the end of 2020 and can no longer provide local news etc, but will continue to host and maintain the site.  And to add local history facts and photos as they become available.

We’re happy to host webpages for any local history group for free.  If anyone has articles to add or is interesting in helping with the website please contact us.

We also run a professional genealogy service – Forest Genealogy – to help find ancestors, or living relatives you may have lost touch with.
