Loveden area of Lincolnshire – Local History & Information

About Us

I set up the Loveden.org.uk website in 2010, partly to record our local history research and partly as an attempt to organise information and news for the area that sits between Grantham, Newark, Sleaford and Lincoln, without being close to any of them.

Our research started in Brandon, in the parish of Hough on the Hill.  But gradually expanded to the surrounding villages, which once comprised the Loveden Wapentake.  We did a lot of work on the local war memorials, not just researching the men and how they died, but looking at their families and how they were linked with other families and the places they lived.

Initially the site was built using Serif Webplus.  In 2018 it was rebuilt using WordPress, allowing faster updates and making it more mobile-friendly.  I moved away from Lincolnshire at the end of 2020 and can no longer provide local news etc, but I will continue to host and maintain the site.  And to add local history facts and photos as they become available.

If anyone has articles to add or is interesting in helping with the website please contact us.
